Areas of expertise

Depression - feeling low in mood and little enjoyment in life with difficulties in other areas of life such as sleep, appetite, concentration. â€‹

Health Illness Anxiety - excessive worry about getting or having a serious illness.

​

Specific Phobia - intense fear of an object, situation or activity.

​

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) - unwanted intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviours.

​

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - an anxiety disorder that develops after a traumatic event.

​

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) - excessive worry and anxiety about lots of different things.

​

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) - excessive worry about appearance.

​

Panic Disorder - an anxiety disorder that causes repeated and unexpected panic attacks.

​

Agoraphobia - an intense fear of situations where escape might be difficult or that help won't be available.

​

Bulimia Nervosa - an eating disorder characterised by binge eating, self induced vomiting, laxative use, strict restriction, or extreme exercise, associated with persistent and excessive concern with food, shape and weight. 

​

Binge Eating Disorder - recurrent episodes of binge eating, often associated with distress, guilt and shame.

​

Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder (OSFED) - similar to other eating disorders but they do not meet the full diagnostic criteria for one of those disorders but are often just as distressing and get in the way of life. 

​

Avoidant Restrictive Feeding Intake Disorder (ARFID) - avoidance of certain foods or types of food, not usually associated with wanting to be a low weight. Anyone of any age can have ARFID. It is not 'fussy eating'.
